The Thistle Inn, built in 1861 as the home of a prominent Sea Captain, has been welcoming guests since 1960. The Thistle Inn stands at the entrance to Boothbay Harbor, a vibrant and picturesque port village on the coast of Maine. The Inn's period character, unique setting and long history, make it a perfect choice for vacations, honeymoons, anniversary gifts, and romantic getaways. The Thistle Inn is within easy walking distance of all the attractions Boothbay Harbor has to offer. You can also reserve the entire Inn for Weddings, reunions, and corporate functions.
We welcome you to stay in any of our 6 private rooms. Each is named after a sailing vessel that makes or has made frequent visits to Boothbay Harbor. Overnight guests are invited to enjoy a delicious breakfast served on the porch, weather permitting, or in the period decorated Mary Day
room. A short stroll brings you to the heart of Boothbay Harbor where you can enjoy the shoppes, galleries and port activities.
Our on-site restaurant serves up the perfect mix of fine cuisine and casual fare. We use only the freshest ingredients and everything is home made, including salad dressings, fresh baked breads and desserts. The best way to describe our food is an eclectic mix of American cuisine with a hint of international flavors. Complementing the dining rooms and outdoor deck is our Dory Pub named after an 18 foot dory that sailed the waters of Boothbay and now serves as a unique bar and spirited meeting place.
We invite you to experience the warmth and
charm of true Down East hospitality here at
The Thistle Inn.
